Dear Friends,
Welcome to the Re-elect Mark Dudenhefer for Supervisor web
site. I'd like to start your review of my candidacy by first
thanking all of the Garrisonville District residents for the
opportunity to serve as your supervisor for the past
three-and-a-half years. It has been an honor and a
significant highlight in my life.
When
I first took office, Stafford was enjoying economic prosperity.
Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing economic setbacks caused by the
national recession. Through the good times and the bad I have worked hard
to improve the quality of life for Stafford residents. I am very proud
of my record of accomplishments. Please take the time to review a
list of accomplishments under the
Accomplishments tab on this web site.
None of this could have been accomplished without your
support and vote four years ago. As the November 3rd Election Day
approaches, I ask for your support again so that I can continue the vital
work we have begun.
The key to improving our quality of life and keeping
residential property taxes low is expanding our commercial base. In the past
year and a half the board majority has virtually shut down the economic
prosperity experienced earlier this decade.
Success lies in encouraging new businesses to locate here,
reducing the residential real estate tax burden and creating the kinds of
well-paying, high-tech jobs that will allow more of our citizens to end the
weary commute north. If reelected, I will work to restart Stafford’s economic
engine by building Stafford’s reputation as a business-friendly county and
implementing a tax structure that encourages commercial growth.
In addition, I will continue to push for higher salaries for
our school teachers, work to widen Courthouse Rd. and Rt. 610, complete the
pedestrian sidewalks along Mine Rd. and Hampton Park Rd., broaden the use of
impact fees on developers to fund neglected infrastructure, and restrict
residential growth that does not pay for itself.
Serving as supervisor for the
Garrisonville District has been both an honor and a
privilege, and I ask for your vote on November 3rd
so that I can continue to provide effective, responsive and
common sense leadership for both the Garrisonville District
and Stafford County as a whole.
